TB II Tower Defense X BETA Gold & Token Farming Guide
Expert, Endless, Nightmare, and Casual routes for Gold, Crystals, XP, and Battle Pass Tokens.
Progress in Tower Defense X is gated by currencies. Gold unlocks permanent towers, Crystals fund premium and Nightmare progression, XP raises rank, Cash is spent inside matches, and Tokens advance event Battle Passes. This guide shows practical farm routes for Gold and Tokens after you finish Getting Started and can survive Expert.
During Tower Battles Part II, Token income decides how fast you unlock Scout, Aviator, Phaser, and Void Traitor—see Battle Pass. Redeem Codes before long sessions so free Gold is never left on the table.

Expert farming
Expert (~42 waves) is the best “learn while earning” loop once you can clear it. You gain:
- Reliable Gold and XP
- Map medals that feed Crystal progress
- Practice for the same micro you need on event Hard+
Use the Laser Gunner / Farm / EDJ / Railgunner / Juggernaut / John core from How to Beat Expert until clears are boring. Rotate maps for medal completion instead of repeating one layout forever. If you wipe often, drop back to Elite—failed Expert runs are terrible Gold / hour.
After consistent clears, buy quality-of-life towers (Medic, Golden Juggernaut, sea coverage) before chasing cosmetics.
Endless Gold routes
Endless remains a classic Gold grind. General rules used by high-rate players:
- Pick the hardest Endless difficulty / map variant you can stabilize.
- Bring strong economy plus scaling DPS from Best Loadouts.
- Push to a known efficient cutoff (many strats aim around wave 80, then sell down and end) instead of greedily crawling to wave 200 every time.
- Track Gold earned versus minutes spent; a clean 80-wave reset often beats a sloppy deep run.
Helicopter-style and other premium DPS options can raise Expert / Endless Gold rates once unlocked; Golden Juggernaut tends to matter more when you pivot into Nightmare Crystal farms. Choose the unlock that matches your next currency goal, not both at once if Gold is tight.
Nightmare for Crystals and Tokens
Nightmare (and Ultra variants when available) pays better Crystals and, during events, strong Token rates—but only if you clear. Treat Nightmare as endgame content: Medic lines, maxed supports, and co-op roles from Players matter more than raw greed.
During TB II, Nightmare and Voidmare Token strategies often feature Jet Trooper, EDJ, Golden Juggernaut, Refractor, Combat Medic or Medic, and Oil Derrick / Toxicnator style economy or shred. Those loadouts are expensive; unlock pieces with Expert / Endless Gold first. Duo Voidmare farms exist for players who want maximum Tokens and can sustain hour-long micro.
If a Nightmare Token strat requires Extreme micro you do not enjoy, drop to Hard or Casual—burnout destroys weekly Token totals faster than a slower mode.
Casual Mode for Battle Pass Tokens
Tower Battles Part II added Casual as a relaxed event difficulty. Use it when:
- You are unlocking early Battle Pass tiers (Scout arrives early).
- You want Tokens without Void God airstrike stress.
- You are learning the Void Realm layout before Hard.
Casual is not the highest Tokens / hour (especially after the late-September Casual reward nerf), but it is the most consistent for daily quotas. Several players plan around a handful of Casual clears per day to finish the seventy-two-tier pass over a couple of weeks, then use Hard / Nightmare sessions when they have focus time. Pair Casual grinds with Casual Token Farm and the reward roadmap in Battle Pass. For Endless cutoffs and Crystal sinks, continue to Endless Mode and Crystals & Ronald.
Session templates
One-hour Gold session
- Redeem new codes.
- Two Expert clears on medal-deficient maps or one Endless cutoff run.
- Spend Gold immediately on the next tower in your Beginner or Expert plan—do not sit on currency.
One-hour Token session (TB II)
- Check Battle Pass tier and next tower unlock.
- Run Casual while warming up.
- If stable, queue Hard or a practiced Nightmare Token strat.
- Stop before tilt; bank Tokens and review Void God notes if Hard wipes spike.
Mixed progression night
- Expert medals (Gold + Crystals progress).
- One Endless Gold push.
- Casual / Hard Tokens until the next Scout / Aviator / Phaser milestone.
Efficiency tips
- Hotkeys from Controls raise clears / hour more than a minor tower upgrade.
- Co-op with role calls beats four random DPS stacks.
- Sell dead weight mid-run to finish key upgrades sooner.
- Do not buy every shop skin mid-pass; Tokens and Gold should hit towers first.
- Track whether you are Gold-starved or Crystal-starved—Expert / Endless versus Nightmare answers differ.
- Event free loadouts in some modes let newer accounts farm Tokens before owning the full permanent roster—use them.
What not to farm
- Repeating Easy after you can clear Intermediate—awful Gold rates.
- Forcing Voidmare before Hard consistency—failed deep runs waste Tokens / hour.
- Ignoring codes and group Cash—free progress left behind.
- Spending Crystal crates on cosmetics while key Nightmare towers remain locked.

Pick one currency goal per session, run the matching mode, and convert earnings into towers the same day. That loop beats aimless matchmaking every time.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Tower Defense X questions.
What is the best way to farm Gold in TDX?
Once you can clear them, Expert medals and Endless wave-cutoff runs are the standard Gold farms. Newer players should stick to Intermediate and Elite until Expert is stable.
How do I farm Battle Pass Tokens during TB II?
Run Casual for safe Tokens, then Hard or Nightmare strategies for higher rates. Voidmare pays well but only if you actually clear.
Should I farm Endless or Expert?
Endless favors raw Gold when you have a cutoff strat. Expert is better when you still need medals, XP, and combat practice.
Do codes replace farming?
No. Codes give bursts of Gold, Crystals, or XP. Farming modes pays for the bulk of permanent unlocks.
When should I start Nightmare farms?
After Expert feels consistent and you own healing plus late DPS. Nightmare is for Crystals and high Token rates, not early-account grinding.
