TB II Tower Defense X BETA TB II Casual Mode Token Farm
Safe Battle Pass Tokens, Pass Grinder loadout, launch meta vs post-nerf rates, and when to promote to Hard.
Casual Mode is the relaxed Tower Battles Part II difficulty built for Battle Pass Tokens without Void God stress. Use it to learn the Void Realm / Genesis layout, unlock Scout early, and bank daily Tokens while you still practice Expert Gold farms. This page is the dedicated Casual grind guide—pair it with the reward roadmap in Battle Pass, currency math in Gold Farming, and Hard+ boss rules in Void God.
Event context: TB II Collab. Named farm squad: Pass Grinder on Best Loadouts. Redeem Codes before long sessions so free Gold never sits unclaimed.
Why Casual exists
TB II ships four event difficulties: Casual, Hard, Nightmare, and Voidmare. Casual is the on-ramp:
- No Void God finale—less airstrike micro and fewer wipe spirals.
- Shorter, calmer wave scripts so newer accounts and free event loadouts can finish.
- Reliable Tokens for the free 72-tier pass (Scout → Aviator → Phaser → Void Traitor).
- Practice pathing and dual-path upgrades before you queue Hard.
Treat Casual as a quota tool, not the forever endgame. The pass is long on purpose; a handful of clean Casual clears per day often beats one tilted Voidmare attempt.
Launch meta vs the Casual reward nerf
At the 26 September 2026 launch, Casual Token payouts felt excellent for almost everyone. Community farms leaned hard into Casual-only schedules for Scout and mid-pass cosmetics.
Around 27–28 September 2026, Casual rewards were nerfed. Tokens per clear dropped enough that efficient players re-checked Tokens / hour:
| Phase | Casual role |
|---|---|
| Launch window | Primary Token engine for most accounts |
| Post Sep 27–28 nerf | Still best for safe daily quotas and learning |
| After Hard consistency | Warm-up only; Hard / Nightmare carry the rate |
The nerf did not delete Casual. It stopped Casual from being the only answer once you can clear Hard without leaking. If you still wipe Hard, stay on Casual—failed Hard runs destroy Tokens / hour worse than a nerfed Casual clear.
When to switch to Hard or Nightmare
Promote yourself when all of these are true:
- Casual clears feel boring and rarely leak.
- You understand Medic / Combat Medic basics and can call GDA Airstrikes on cue (Void God).
- Your permanent roster covers economy + stealth + late DPS (or you use a stable free event preset).
- You have focus time—Hard and Nightmare punish AFK upgrade habits.
Community Nightmare / Hard Token strats (including routes popularized around video Nz8hZs5tzAA) often claim on the order of ~5k Tokens / hour when clears are clean. Treat that number as a ceiling for practiced lobbies, not a guarantee for first-week accounts. Track your own Tokens earned versus minutes spent for a week; if Hard averages higher than Casual after accounting for wipes, switch. If wipes spike, drop back.
Nightmare and Voidmare pay more still, but only on wins. See the dedicated Voidmare page before forcing peak difficulty for Tokens alone.
Pass Grinder loadout
The named Casual farm set on Best Loadouts is Pass Grinder:
| Slot | Tower | Job |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Farm | Income so upgrades finish early |
| 2 | EDJ | Firerate / discount spine |
| 3 | Scout | Early pressure + stealth detection aura once unlocked |
| 4 | Aviator (or Laser Gunner pre-unlock) | Aerial / general DPS coverage |
| 5 | Cleanup (Missile Trooper, Phaser, etc.) | Finish packs quickly |
| Flex | Next Battle Pass tower you are learning | Practice without Voidmare stakes |
How to play the set
- Place Farm safely; Casual still kills exposed economy if you greed placement.
- Hug EDJ aura around your main DPS cluster.
- Unlock Scout ASAP from the pass—tier 3 is the first real power spike for flexible farms.
- Slot Aviator when the mid-pass unlock lands; until then Laser Gunner keeps stealth and general clear honest.
- Use the flex slot to rehearse Phaser or Void Traitor upgrades before you bring them into Raze Crew on Hard+.
If your permanent six cannot clear Casual yet, use any free event loadout the mode offers. Tokens spent unlocking Scout matter more than perfect cosmetics.
Session templates
Daily Casual quota (30–45 minutes)
- Redeem new Codes.
- Check current Battle Pass tier and next tower milestone.
- Run two to four Casual clears with Pass Grinder.
- Spend Tokens immediately toward Scout / Aviator / Phaser—do not sit on a pile while the season clock ticks.
Mixed Token night (60–90 minutes)
- One Casual warm-up clear.
- Queue Hard if airstrike timing felt sharp; otherwise stay Casual.
- Optional Nightmare Token strat only if the lobby owns Medic lines and late DPS.
- Stop on tilt; bank Tokens and review Void God notes instead of forcing another wipe.
Weekend catch-up
Combine Casual quotas with Expert / Endless Gold from Gold Farming so permanent Medic, Golden Juggernaut, and EDJ upgrades keep pace with event towers.
Efficiency tips unique to Casual
- Hotkeys from Controls raise clears / hour more than a minor DPS swap.
- Sell dead mid-game pads once late DPS is online—Casual is a speed farm, not an Endless trophy run.
- Do not buy every skin crate mid-pass; Tokens should hit tower tiers first (Battle Pass).
- Co-op still helps: one player on economy, one on cleanup beats four random DPS stacks.
- Track Tokens / hour after the Sep nerf so you know when Hard is actually faster for you.
Common Casual mistakes
- Ignoring the post-launch reward nerf and never re-checking Hard rates.
- Queuing Voidmare for Tokens before Scout and Hard consistency.
- Skipping Farm / EDJ because “Casual is easy,” then leaking early packs.
- Leaving Tokens unspent while Aviator sits three tiers away.
- Never reading Void God rules, then blaming the pass when the first Hard queue collapses.

Run Casual for safe Tokens, promote to Hard when clears are boring, and always convert Tokens into Scout and Aviator the same day. That loop finishes the TB II pass without burnout.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Tower Defense X questions.
Is Casual Mode still good for Tokens after the nerf?
Yes for safe daily quotas and learning. After the ~Sep 27–28 reward nerf, Hard and Nightmare usually win on Tokens / hour once you clear them reliably.
What is the Pass Grinder loadout?
Farm, EDJ, Scout, Aviator (or Laser Gunner), a cleanup tower, and a flex slot for the next Battle Pass unlock—see Best Loadouts.
When should I leave Casual for Hard?
When Casual feels trivial, you can handle airstrike cues and Medic lines, and your measured Hard Tokens / hour beats Casual after counting wipes.
Can new accounts farm Casual Tokens?
Yes. Use free event loadouts if your permanent roster is thin, rush Scout on the pass, and keep Expert Gold farms running in parallel.
Are 5k Tokens per hour realistic?
Practiced Hard / Nightmare strategies sometimes claim around that ceiling. Treat it as a target for stable lobbies, not a day-one Casual expectation.
